The Old Palace
Northern Structures Limited were approached to supply and fit the steel work and cladding to transform the remains of an old dwelling into a shelter for walkers and visitors to the area.
The Old Palace formed part of King Edwins Palace, It was build around 1500AD. Over time, it has been altered from one or two cottages (in the 19th century) to a farm out building (in the 20th century).

In 2014, Northern Structures erected a 17.5m long x 7.5m wide Steel frame, with and average height to eaves of 2.4m. to roof has been clad and 3 sky lights have been installed. One side of the steel frame ties directly into the original stone work, whilst the other is free standing.
