Grain Store, Whalton, Northumberland

We have designed, fabricated and erected a steel portal framed grain store in the Northumberland country side for a client in Whalton. Whalton is located on the outskirts of Morpeth.

The building measures some 30.5m long x 15.25m wide x 6.71m average height to eaves. It has been designed to store up to a 3.0m high grain  fill.

The steelwork has been designed and fabricated within the parameters of the CE accreditation scheme, and to  BS5502 class 2.

We have clad the building using profile 6 fibre cement roof sheets and box profile plastisol coated steel sheets to the elevations. Concrete panels have been installed to retain the grain and give a hard wearing finish to the building.

A concrete floor slab as been laid internally and a concrete aprons and entrance ramp externally.

Although not shown in these pictures, a roller shutter door and a pedestrian door have been fitted within the openings on the front elevation.
