Cockle Park Farm, Morpeth

Newcastle University  approached us to help renew their agricultural teaching facilities at Cockle Park, Morpeth.

This is their new Pig Building. It is of steel portal frame construction and measures 22.88m long x 9.2m wide x 2.35m high to eaves. We have installed concrete panels to a height of 1.5m around the perimeter of the building.

The roof has been clad using natural grey fibre cement sheets including skylights, the elevations have been clad in timber boarding. Sliding doors have been fabricated in our workshop and installed on both gable ends.

The floor of the building has been laid to concrete to give a hard wearing and easily cleaned surface.

Internally, blockwork has been used to form pig pens, to our clients specification.

Externally, we have erected a concrete panel retaining wall with concrete floor to the end of the building.
